On the afternoon of March 6, 2023, Thanh Do University welcomed representatives of Milton Friedman University – Hungary to discuss the goals and possibilities of cooperation between the two sides.
The opening of the signing ceremony was an overview of Thanh Do University, a long-standing private university with application orientation, certified for national accreditation for educational quality, and is gradually positioning and expanding cooperation in the international arena.
Associate Professor Dao Thi Ai Thi emphasized some more outstanding features of the university and pointed out specific and special training disciplines that focus on exploiting two aspects that are desired to cooperate and can be supported by Milton Friedman University is a Scientific Research and Exchange Student Semester Business Internship.
Knowing that the content and training program of Milton Friedman University has many similarities. Hopefully in the future in training, it is possible to sign memorandums of understanding on the content of academic exchanges, scientific research, and exchange of training programs both face-to-face and online, opening up directions and potentials that can be exploited and combined between the two sides. Associate Professor Dao Thi Ai Thi especially emphasized the support of Milton Friedman School’s Hungarian partners in building a model for students to practice – work or student exchange programs and scholarship programs from the Hungarian government.
Attending the meeting, on the side of Thanh Do University, was Assoc. Dao Thi Ai Thi, Vice Rector in charge of specialized faculties, and leaders and lecturers of departments and faculties of the University.
On the side of Milton Friedman University, there was Mr. Szatmári Péter – Permanent Vice-Chancellor, and Mr. Suha György – Former Ambassador, Professor of International Relations, currently a Lecturer at Milton Friedman School.
Mr. Szatmári Péter shared that Milton Friedman University stands out with its training in the fields of Information Technology and Tourism – Restaurant – Hospitality and application orientation in the training program are also the similarities that serve as the basis for connecting and supporting each other in the curriculum, scientific research and student exchange between the two schools in the future.
Mr. Suha György affirmed that the inherent good diplomatic relations between the two countries and similarities in historical factors create starting bases for cooperation and facilitate requests for assistance from the Hungarian government.
At the meeting, representatives of Milton Friedman School highly appreciated and impressed the school’s campus and facilities, and identified several important potentials opening up opportunities for cooperation, especially in supporting exchange students and having the opportunity to practice internships in Hungary. However, Mr. Szatmári Péter also emphasized that cultural and linguistic factors are the factors that need to be taken into account for the exchange opportunities and student internships in Hungary to be practical and effective.
After a period of active discussions, the two sides moved to sign a memorandum of cooperation. According to the content of the signed agreement, the two sides move towards long-term cooperation in training several strong and similar disciplines, courses, and occupations that are suitable for learners’ abilities and aspirations, creating favorable conditions for student exchange, especially during the corporate internship. In the immediate future, the two universities can immediately support the completion of scientific research and international articles and journals. In addition, the two universities intend to expand cooperation related to curricula, academic exchange, and promotion of relations with countries in Asia and Southeast Asia and vice versa in the future to support the University to reach out to the European Union countries.
The signing ceremony marked the cooperation relationship between the two universities. Thanh Do University became the first regional partner of Milton Friedman University – Hungary, opening up opportunities to reach the continent and the world.
Both sides believe that the signed cooperation will be a good start for the development of the training field; at the same time, commits to actively promoting activities to make the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding effective, coherent, and sustainable. Thanh Do University hopes that this meeting will open up a new direction of development, allowing its students to expand their expertise and skills, add useful experiences, and get a job right after graduation. With goodwill to cooperate, the connection between Thanh Do University and Milton Friedman University promises to create many positive results, contributing to strengthening diplomatic relations in the educational network of the two countries.
